The culture of Lumen is riddled with everyday interactions with magic. They worship the moon and call it their divine god, the being which gives them power. It’s an easy land to live in should one want to start and end with humble beginnings. There is no way to climb the social ladder if one is not part of the inner circle, but for most people they are content to live in such a way. To have their livelihood secured and their bellies fed is enough of a life for them. In other words they’re sheep content to be sheep.

The Afterlife

There are two places of the afterlife. Extumum (the end of ends) and Aeternus (the infinite). The first is what one may call "the good place" and the latter ,"the bad place."

Celebrations

They have endless amounts of parties and festivals. Since they’re so traditional they have this need to celebrate a lot of their history, and they’ve done a lot there is much to be enjoyed. They don’t ever get rid of holidays or festivals because it’s tradition to keep the history a part of their culture.

Gender Equality | Women and men are treated exactly the same, and they consider different forms of gender identity to be an extension of magic. The Vaeis which flow through their veins is something that can change even human nature.

Magic Council | The magic council is an impartial group of magic users who create laws and research magic in order to best harness and limit it. Any Tier II magician can join the Magic Council so long as they have a good track record and a glowing letter of recommendation.

Creatures  | Their world is infested with magical creatures which seek to hunt all those that breath. It is said to be a manifestation of man’s ill intentions, but that’s just something of an old wives’ tale. These creatures come from what is known as the Badlands - an area of uncharted waters that explorers have gone into but have never returned from.

Magic | Magic is appreciated and revered within the Kingdom so that means their kingdom is fantastical in essence. Cobblestone stairways float above towers to gaze upon the moon of which they adore.

  1. They trap moonlight within lamps and use it to light their cities.
  2. Elements of nature are incorporated in the architecture and allows a person the comfort of a home while still being connected to nature.
  3. Magical creatures which threaten their land are no match for highly skilled magicians who are specifically trained to deal with the beasts.
  4. The competition to be the best Magician means there is so much raw unbridled talent just waiting to be used.

Conquered | People who were conquered, yeah it sucks, but most of the time people from the already merged Lumen are accepting of the newcomers with open arms. This makes transitioning much easier.
