The Empire of Sol operates under a government system called technocracy. The officials who run the government are called Tekhnes and are selected on the basis of either their technological achievements or advanced knowledge of technology. They are chosen through a majoritarian vote and serve as an oligarchy that governs the Empire. Currently, there are 12 Tekhnes who serve as the head of governments, all of which are geniuses in their own rights.
To be eligible for a Tekhne or any related position in the government one must first be scouted. It is an anonymous review and monitor citizens whom they believe are some of the greatest minds in Sol. While the investigation for a genius Tekhne is ongoing, there is a yearly event called Efevretón day (Inventors day). It acts as an empire-wide showcase of people’s ability to create or use technology. Many see it as their only chance to prove themselves worthy of being called a Tekhne, so the inventions one will see on this day are always complex and beautiful.
The empire is divided into 6 distinct sectors that have over the years naturally gained a reputation for certain advancements. It is here that scientific aspects advance at a rapid rate.
