The Empire of Sol’s culture is rooted in the idea of freedom and self-expression. While contrary to what one may have already gathered, they are rather fair and just society.

Culture & Shit

The Afterlife

Many Solians do not believe in the afterlife, but of rather they place their bets on the Machine God. The ability to be resurrected in the future. They take good care of the deceased body for the time when reanimation may come.

Body Snatching

Technology allows for the full surgical reattachment of limbs, only problem is, most people don't want to donate their body.

Freedom

Although the government in Sol is very free there are certain things that the Empire of Sol has no tolerance for. The people mostly accept this as every other aspect of their lives is accounted for and most do not wish to destroy the balance and freedoms they already have in fear of being destroyed like so many else.

Genocide

The people of Sol have no use for other kingdoms, empires, or nations. They are a very self-centered empire that will destroy any country that they encounter. They do not take hostages, they do not assimilate defeated countries, they simply erase their existence.

Politics | While magic is banned there is a certain freedom that comes along with it. The Empire of Sol has one of the freest government systems known. The most governmental power lies with local governments (the six sectors) which the people are free to discuss and voice their opinions. And since each sector takes care of their own politics it means there is a lot of variation in terms of culture and laws created. It can be a bit jarring to go from sector to sector, but the underlying value of a freer government remains.

Chaos | From the outside it may look like the Empire of Sol has no control over its own subjects, but it stems from an unobserving eye. Sol works like a machine with set dates and forums and ways of arguing. Everything is well researched and the people who make the most change are the ones who are able to gather the most information and present it in an efficient way. There is always a flurry of amendments or changes in culture — but the people of Sol have grown adapted to the way life has become.

Logical | Solians take seriously the matter of logic and reasoning. Being an academic or scholar is one of the most revered positions within the Empire. People don’t seem to act on their emotions so much as their heads. They are always wanting to try something different or experiment to see what new results they may obtain. The people are test subjects, and everyone is a participant for each other.

Magic | The Eternal Empress outlawed magic users, but not magic necessarily. She admitted the potential use of magic for technology but limited only to object magic — the kind where people aren’t in control only the land is. For example, the iron which is found in the deep caves of [insert name here] is infused with light magic giving any weapon or invention the ability to naturally illuminate during the night.

Punishment | Here punishment is severe. There is a no-tolerance policy for magic users, and if one is born or shows magical abilities at a young age they are either executed or sent to the penitentiary located somewhere hidden. (OOOO idea for this. They are sent to this dimensional prison and academics and scholars are trying to use their magic to invade it into their weapons. Capturing the soul essence of these poor kids using one of the artifacts.)
